Baggage Policy

Travel Light, Travel Smart: Our Luggage Guidelines. Understanding our baggage policy is key to a smooth and hassle-free journey with Mombasa Air Safari. Due to the nature of our aircraft, which often operate to and from remote bush airstrips with limited runway lengths, strict adherence to baggage weight and size limitations is essential for safety and operational efficiency.

Standard Allowance (Scheduled Flights)

For passengers on our scheduled flights, the standard baggage allowance is:

  • 15 kgs (approximately 33 lbs) per person.
  • This allowance is inclusive of both checked luggage and carry-on hand baggage.
  • Soft-sided bags are mandatory. Duffel bags, rucksacks, or similar soft bags without rigid frames or wheels are strongly recommended. These are easier to stow in the aircraft's hold.

Excess & Charter Baggage

Excess baggage on scheduled flights can only be carried if space and weight permit, and will be charged at the prevailing rate. It is highly advisable to pre-book and pay for any excess baggage to avoid disappointment at the airstrip. In some cases, excess baggage may need to travel on a later flight.

For private charter flights, baggage allowances can often be more flexible depending on the aircraft type, number of passengers, and route. Please discuss your specific baggage requirements with our team when booking your charter to ensure all your needs can be met.
